What do the team do? We in Marketing Strategy and Planning Team are a small and dynamic team made up of two distinct but co-dependent areas: Marketing Strategy and Marketing Operations. Working with our fantastic colleagues across Marketing, we’re responsible for creating the Marketing Strategy (Consumer & SMB) and then translating this strategy into the Marketing plan for O2, which delivers our KPIs. How will you fit into this? This Marketing Operations Lead role is a leadership facilitation role….What does that mean? The role involves thinking about all the teams that need to come together to deliver our Marketing Goals and KPIs; specifically how we tackle planning problems such as: How do we define our Marketing Strategy and Plan for next year?
How do we ensure that each Quarter, we are focussed on the challenges for that quarter and therefore when we execute our strategies and plans, we are facing into those challenges?
How do ensure that our key plan deliverables, are staying true to what was originally set out (benefits, cost, time)?
How do we react to changes that mean we need to change our plans i.e. Market changes, delays, changes to targets or resources?
How do we make sure that our plans are driving our KPIs and that we are continuously learning?
What is the best solution to these problems? Who needs to be involved in these process? When do they need to happen? How do we best engage teams to change our way of working to solve these problems?
Some of the more specific responsibilities: Work with stakeholders across Marketing to design, develop and deploy processes, that sit across Marketing directorates, enhancing our executional capabilities
Run the Annual Planning process, to create one joined up Marketing plan to deliver our Strategy
Ensure continuous improvement of the execution process via process evaluation feedback loops
Lead and facilitate change management to the Strategy and consequently plan, in line with any Market or Business shifts
Ensure the plan is up to date and cascaded to all relevant parties within marketing but also other key areas i.e. Sales
What we need from you: Ambitious and passionate change agent. With resilience and drive to deliver cultural change
Problem solver. Comfortable facing into complex and ambiguous problems and asking questions in order to ensure the right problems are solved
Excellent process and project/programme management skills
Excellent stakeholder management/people skills (persuade and influence)
